Ashleigh Franks began her career as a horsewoman at the age of 10 when she went to work on a local farm to pay for her lessons as a hunter/jumper. She has been passionate about horses ever since and has made working in the equine field her life’s work.
Ashleigh is a 2007 graduate of The University of Kentucky where she studied animal science. While in college, she worked for a thoroughbred breeding farm, caring for mares and foals. She went on to work for an equine veterinary practice where she gathered knowledge in x-ray technologies, bloodwork, medications, and equine reproduction.
Ashleigh was then recruited by Spendthrift Farm and spent the last 5 years as their stallion administrator where she was responsible for all breeding contracts and mare bookings. Spendthrift Farms is one of the premiere stallion farms in the country and is home to Breeder’s Cup nominated “Malibu Moon” – the 2013 #1 North American Sire. While Ashleigh was at Spendthrift Farms, the program grew from 4 to 14 stallions.
Ashleigh manages the The Trish Franks School of Riding, LLC’s scheduling, staff supervision, and serves as a IEA English and Western Coach and partners with Brittany, and the attending vets the medical and physical care of the school and IEA horses.
Ashleigh and her husband, Martin Franks, recently relocated to the Nashville area and we are honored to have them both on staff here at Natchez Bend.
